Wet Palette - Keep your paint flowing and even store it overnight!
thingiverse
This is a "wet palette" which keeps acrylic paints usable for a much longer time than on a normal palette. It works by having a water-soaked sponge with some membrane paper on top, keeping paint fresh for hours longer when kept closed. When you keep it locked in place, it can even last days without drying out. Don't forget to keep the sponge wet and refill some water from time to time. To make this work, you need to print the bottom part watertight. This can usually be done using 100% infill. You may also want to set many perimeters/thick walls. I use a pattern like "/ \ | -" for the infill. Be aware that the version with the grid in the bottom piece may get harder to be watertight if you don't use 100% infill! The grid is meant to help water distribution when refilling, and it works for me but may not be needed at all. I use some thin kitchen sponge as a water reservoir and "oil-soaking french fries" paper as membrane. You can also try using other parchment paper. Just experiment with what works for you and share your results in the comments! P.S.: This design was made specifically for my Ender 3 printer and uses the full bed! You may need to scale it down for your own printer, but that should work pretty well - just don't scale the z-axis!
