Weston Park gate-post carving in Sheffield UK
myminifactory
This is a scan of one of the carvings on the stone gate pillar at the southeastern entrance to Weston Park, located in Sheffield City Centre, UK. Upon entering the park, it's situated on the left-hand side. It's an exceptionally well-crafted carving from the Victorian era, as indicated by the VR carved into the background - Victoria Regina, signifying Queen Victoria. The scan was taken using the Sony 3D Creator app on an Xperia XZ1 Compact smartphone and did a commendable job of capturing its shape, although it fell short of replicating every detail of the original. Moreover, it failed to include the upper corners, which are relatively simple and could easily be added in if deemed necessary. Nonetheless, this scan remains a valuable resource that can be used to create a 3D print, providing insight into the local history for those interested.
