I built an extension to hold a 2kg roll of filament without having to cut the included trays. I placed all but one of the included trays under the extension, lifting the filament away from the heat source. Next, I inserted the remaining tray into the top of the extension so the lid could sit firmly on top. The top of the extension was just slightly too small for the tray. To fix this, I heated it up and pressure-fit the tray into place. Alternatively, you could scale up the extension slightly to ensure a snug fit.
