Westerwald/Rhenish Jug

myminifactory

This compact Westerwald/Rhenish jug is skillfully crafted on a potter's wheel, boasting an intricate design featuring two rabbits delicately carved above a complex Celtic knotwork pattern and a front motif. The object was meticulously scanned in three dimensions using a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner within the archaeology laboratory for Independence National Historical Park (INDE) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The scanner software seamlessly filled in the interior of the vessel, but this feature can be easily digitally eliminated. Archaeological excavation revealed that the vessel originated from the site now occupied by the National Constitution Center. This artifact is officially referenced as Independence National Historical Park, Catalog Number: INDE 102973. Permission to share this image was kindly granted by Independence National Historical Park.
