This area of intricately carved outcrop can be found near the edge of a mature, privately owned plantation, situated in West Horton, Northumberland. Mentioned as 'West Horton 2a' in the Beckensall Archive, this carving was documented by the Northumberland and Durham Rock Art Project (NADRAP) in 2006 and added to ERA in 2008. The design is a vibrant arrangement of cups, some with partial rings and grooves. All are fairly deeply carved, which may indicate that the stone has been concealed for much of its existence. ERA Record: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=63 Despite not being scheduled, this carving is listed on Northumberland County Council's Heritage and Environmental Records (HER): http://www.keystothepast.info/article/10339/Site-Details?PRN=N3897 A 3D model was created from 3 stereo pairs captured using a 5mp Nikon Coolpix 5400 by Joe Gibson on March 6th, 2007. The imagery forms part of the ERA / NADRAP archive.
