This picturesque windmill stands proudly after being constructed in the 1820s, its unique design a far cry from the traditional octagonal layout found in most smock mills, where six sides take center stage instead. Notable artist John Constable took his brush to this remarkable structure back in 1825, capturing its essence for all to see. She continued to serve until 1897, when unfortunate circumstances struck and two of her sails met their match, leaving them badly damaged. But thanks to a thoughtful handover in 1937 by the Marquess of Abergavenny to Hove Corporation, she's now been preserved as an iconic landmark, standing the test of time.
