Wemos D1 Mini (esp8266 clone) case for 5v WLED christmas lights
thingiverse
This case is designed specifically for a D1 mini and can be easily adapted for other projects as I have included a copy with no holes for you to drill where needed, along with Fusion 360 and step files. The case has approximately 10mm of space under the D1 mini for wiring and electronics, as well as a gap to run wires from top to bottom of the board. This case was designed to install inline between a power supply and NeoPixel (WS2812B, WS2811, SK6812, APA102) LED string. Check out the photo of the white box at the start of the Christmas lights which is a $3 cloned D1 mini running the WLED opensource project. It features: Clip on lid that stays in place without needing screws or glue. Allows usb port and reset button to be accessed easily with a pen or pin, even if your board has the reset button on the opposite side. Lid holds the d1 mini in place without requiring glue or screws. Space for power sockets, electronics and wiring inside the case. Prints with no supports needed if your printer can handle 60 degree overhangs. If this case works for you, please hit the LIKE button to help others find it quickly. If it doesn't work for you, let me know in the comments which version d1 mini you have and why it didn't work. There are many variants, so hopefully this will work with all/most of them. I've noticed some boards need a quick file down the edges due to snapped PCBs instead of cut ones, so if it's tight just rub the edges with sandpaper or file.
