Wemos D1 mini box

Wemos D1 mini box

I built a box to house the compact Wemos D1 mini Arduino board, which comes with WiFi capabilities for an affordable price. The box is designed to accommodate both the mini and pro versions of this board, each with their own unique features. The space inside the box is sufficient to store cables and a shield, as well as provide room for a micro USB connector. A rubber band secures the lid in place under the feet. One thing to note is that there are two different versions of the Wemos D1 mini board: the standard version with a metal lid, and the pro version without a metal lid. When using this box, you must decide which version to use based on your specific needs. The micro-USB connector must be placed upwards, which means that the "mini pro" version is mounted with the antenna connector pointing up, while the "mini" version is mounted with the metal lid facing down (essentially upside-down). As a result of this design choice, the pins on the board will not be in the same position for both versions. If you plan to mount a board on top of the Wemos D1 mini, you'll need to choose which version to use and design your board accordingly. Additionally, the reset button's location will vary depending on the specific Wemos board used.
