Wemo Switch UK Backplate
thingiverse
Wemo switches are specifically designed for the US market and will not fit UK backplates or dry lining boxes due to their unique dimensions. To accommodate these switches, a custom plate is required that spaces them correctly and provides screw holes for both the back box and the Wemo switch. The Wemo switch itself is quite deep, which means that any additional spacing required will also be substantial. Unfortunately, this presents another challenge in terms of aesthetics. Nevertheless, printing the plate upside-down seems to be a viable solution. While it's true that the overhangs may appear rough, they are ultimately hidden from view within the back box. On the other hand, the indent for the dry-lining box prints out neatly and allows the plate to sit flush against the wall. Once printed, simply remove the old switch, screw the Wemo switch onto the print, connect all the wires, then secure the print to the back-box using screws. Finally, snap the Wemo cover over the top.
