Weltzeituhr (Alexanderplatz) / Urania-Weltzeituhr Berlin
thingiverse
Model prototype of the Berlin World Time Clock (also: Urania World Time Clock) on Alexanderplatz. The model is 21 cm high and 12 cm wide and deep.In the original, the planets are different sizes - for the sake of simplicity, they are all the same size in the model, except for Jupiter.Printed in 0.1mm layer height with a 0.5mm nozzle. I had to print the rings very slowly - they are very delicate. Since some parts are glued on, you can also use a larger layer height.I aligned the parts appropriately for printing. It may be that the slicer reports errors - my program exports the surfaces the wrong way round - it shouldn't be a problem. I used the PrusaSlicer 2.6.1.Inside is a quartz clockwork. A 24-hour movement that runs continuously (not ticking) would be ideal. Unfortunately, I have not found one (only ticking) and therefore used a normal 12-hour movement (noiseless).Depending on the movement, the hole in the stundenziffern_zu.stl must be adjusted. If the movement has a short axle, you can use uhradapter.stl as a base. The case was covered with imprints (A4-druckdatenA.jpg, A4-druckdatenB.jpg). I printed it out on a laser printer. The graphics are derived from original photos and have been partially reworked. I traveled to Berlin on October 6, 2023 to take the photos. The numbers were painted over with gold - for the glossy effect. The model was partially painted silver and gold before the decals were applied.I glued the paper to the model with uhu glue. The rings were mounted with superglue. The rings were mounted as indicated. Each at 45°. There is an assembly aid for the first rings (ringmontagehelper.stl).There are always two rings together (1+2, 3+4, etc.) the 2nd ring has two bulges as an assembly aid.
