WellFan - Mean Well LRS-350-24 ultra silent PSU mod for Ender 3
thingiverse
This is a PSU modification specifically designed for the Creality3D Ender 3, but its compatibility extends to other printers as well. The first step involves replacing the original PSU with a Mean Well LRS-350-24. This upgrade sets the stage for further modifications. Next, the original PSU cover fan is replaced by a specially crafted partial case that allows users to install an 80 mm 12v Arctic F8 Silent fan (or any other compatible 80 mm x 25 mm 12v fan). The original Ender 3 power socket and switch combination remain intact. Notably, the original fan is indeed 12v as seen in a provided photo. This custom case consists of three parts that should print smoothly without support materials. Its design ensures it fits snugly on the Ender 3 bed even if the final product exceeds the printer's build area. Multiple cable tunnels are strategically placed at the lower side, enabling easy mounting just like the original PSU. The modification is designed to fit outside a printer enclosure and features a slightly thicker profile for accommodating cables comfortably. Only the original screws from the PSU lid and fan are required for assembly. The result of this case and fan modification is a practically silent PSU operation. P.S.: To encourage customization, I've also included the Fusion 360 file so users can remix it to suit their printers or different socket types.
