Weller Soldering Iron Cover

I volunteer at a local school, teaching Radio and Electronics to students who really benefit from hands-on learning experiences. I often lead soldering activities, where we work together to assemble various projects. To make cleanup more efficient, I've been using my own iron to keep up with the demand for soldering stations. However, when it's time to wrap up our session and exit the classroom quickly, I need a better way to store my hot soldering iron safely in my bag. That's why I was excited to find this design on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2265646 - it seemed like a great idea, but I knew I could improve upon it by making some adjustments. I added ventilation to the design because I realized that my iron might still be warm when I put the cover on. This modification ensures that the iron can cool down properly while it's being stored. To make it even more practical, I made the cover a push-fit design. It simply fits snugly onto the back of the iron with a gentle push and stays in place due to friction. With enough pressure, it securely holds the iron in position, providing peace of mind as I store my equipment safely.
