Welding Helmet Suspension Adapter

Welding Helmet Suspension Adapter

thingiverse

This is a welding helmet suspension adapter to allow for the standard Jackson/Hunter helmet suspension rig to adapt to a simple welding helmet that just has holes on the side. Modern Jackson/Hunter helmets have a block of plastic on the sides that provide a detent for the basic suspension system, but older helmets just have a flat surface with holes. This adapter provides a raised cylinder with a detent that also holds the square-shaft of the attachment bolt. There are 2 parts, a RH and a LH side, they are just mirrors of each other. To attach it to the helmet, I used a 3mm x 10mm machine screw and drilled a hole through the adapter where one of the existing holes was in the helmet. I used a nylock nut on the backside to prevent it from falling out. I printed this in black ABS, but PLA would work fine if it is stored in a cool area. I wanted this to last for a while. Standard settings (0.15mm layers) with 20% infill on an Anycubic Vyper. Please feel free to remix, share, or modify this model as you wish. Enjoy!
