A handy tip for gauging weld size in corners is to attach an "A-gauge" to the end of your digital caliper. Zero it out on a sharp, unwelded corner, then take a measurement of your weld. Note: When using this technique, avoid placing the gauge directly on hot metal - use a heat-resistant surface instead.
