The famous "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" landmark, located at the strip's southern end, was designed by Betty Willis and erected in 1959. The white circles of this iconic sign symbolize Silver Dollars, inspired by a 1922 "Peace" dollar's outline. A Solidworks model of the sign, created from internet pictures, is close to scale.
