The tiny little gasket on the Welch Allyn KleenSpec Disposable Ear-Specula Dispenser for 521-Series Ear Specula has a replacement that matches Part number 521000. This gasket is designed to fit inside the housing of the ear specula and provides a snug seal when using pneumatic, operating, or consulting otoscopes. The stock gasket works well initially but can be easily dislodged over time due to constant use by medical professionals. As beds and IV poles crash into the housing during cleaning and patient care, the gasket often becomes detached, causing damage to the surrounding area. A replacement gasket is available that fits perfectly inside the existing housing. This new design aims to provide more support than the original by extending deeper along the tubing assembly, preventing it from being dislodged as easily. Developing a 3D modeled replacement for the entire assembly of the 521 Series Ear Specula/Otoscope tip (Part 521000) is also underway. The cost of this assembly is approximately $355 for 10 units.
