Weighted Christmas Stocking Holder with Yoda
thingiverse
I was on the lookout for a stocking holder that would fit perfectly on my mantel, as our old one had gotten damaged. I loathe going out to crowded malls close to Christmas time, so I took it upon myself to create one instead. The holder is made up of a base that can be filled with heavy objects (I used BBs for mine); a lid that needs to be glued on top of the base; and a hook that must be carefully placed into a slot in the front of the base. I made sure to make the hook a tight fit, but you might need to adjust it based on your printer's settings. I also managed to resize 19baeD's Christmas Yoda model to perfectly match the base, which simply gets glued into place. You can really use any flat bottomed model with this base; I just thought that having Christmas Yoda look nice on it would add a festive touch. Print Settings Printer: Printrbot Simple V1 Rafts: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: 15% Notes: Please make sure to print everything as oriented, with Yoda and the hook requiring support during printing, while the other components can be printed without any assistance needed after being printed. Post-Printing Fill and Assemble Dry fit all parts carefully before attempting assembly for smooth installation. Fill the base completely with something heavy; I chose to use BBs for mine. Once you've filled it up, glue the lid onto the base over the added weight securely. Next, place the hook into the slot on the base, applying some glue afterwards to keep it in its designated spot.
