At the start of World War I, Arthur Krupp took the initiative to transform the nail bear of Berndorf into a design by sculptor Otto Jarl in South-Tirol's Grödnertal valley. The nail bear was unveiled on the Emperor's birthday in 1915 in Berndorf, where you could strike an iron nail as part of a donation for members of the armed forces. The bear is positioned within a cave located in Idagasse, Berndorf. A 3D model was generated using a replica designed by Mr. Zach, which can be found at the Krupp Stadt Museum in Berndorf. However, due to its proximity to the wall, the back of the bear could not be effectively worked out.
