Wegstr CNC Spindle - 43mm Euro Tool Mount adapter
thingiverse
Have you been lucky enough to snag a small, almost silent, regulated Mini-CNC spindle motor sold by the Czech company Wegstr in 2016? Using this thing, you can mount the spindle perfectly centered in the 43mm Euro neck tool holder. The story goes as follows: In 2016, the spindle was 6000rpm at 35 Euro, good enough to make perfect cuts. In 2017, it was updated to 12000 rpm at 130 Euro. Now, the same spindle alone costs more than 350 Euro. If you have one already, you're in luck. The adapter has two sideways holes, intended for using setscrews 3mm if you need to do so. I didn't need to use set screws. The spindle motor is rated at 26volts DC, 3 ampere. If you've printed the adapter from plastic, it's worth keeping an eye on warming up under full load or over long duration milling jobs. Using HT PLA or ABS or something heat-resistant filament is highly recommended. I will attach a bracket mounted to the metal parts to make it double safe. Or bend a metal tape over the motor, secure it to the euro tool holder firmly. Put some rubber tape in between to prevent making damages. It looks so sweet. Markus Fuller has a video about transforming an even older pre 2016 CNC to USB. Grab one from ebay as long as used parallel port versions are sold relatively cheap.
