Weetwood Moor 5b (Jan 2007)
sketchfab
Area of exposed outcrop toward the eastern end of Weetwood Moor, near Wooler, Northumberland. One of over two dozen carvings grouped together on Weetwood Moor stands at this location. This exposure marks the most westerly position and is designated as 'Weetwood Moor 5b' in the Beckensall Archive. The archive documents four faded cups arranged in a curved line. Since Stan Beckensall's initial recording, erosion may have destroyed the motifs, as none were visible during NADRAP's documentation or appear on this three-dimensional model. ERA records incorporating Beckensall Archive material can be accessed at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=128. Historic England has scheduled this area for its historic significance, as documented at https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1415509. A three-dimensional model was created from five stereo pairs captured by Joe Gibson in January 2007 using a Nikon Coolpix 5400 with a 5-megapixel resolution. The imagery constitutes part of the NADRAP / ERA archive.
