Weeping Angel tree topper
thingiverse
A Dr. Who-inspired tree topper angel with a twist is available in a newer version here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:529873. The design includes a conical hole at the base to accommodate a tree branch, while an alternative version without the hole is also provided for those who prefer a solid statue. This creation has been submitted as an entry into ProtoParadigm's Winter Wonderland Contest. For the initial print, settings included 0% infill and two shells at 80mm/sec. However, the results were unsatisfactory. The printer was re-run at a slower speed of 40mm/sec with one shell and 0% infill, resulting in better outcomes. Print specifications for improved results include a 40 mm/sec print speed, 230 degrees extruder temperature, 25 degrees heated bed temperature, and PLA material. The single shell and 0% infill settings were chosen to achieve the desired hollow appearance, although it was noted that the head's top might benefit from some infill to prevent sagging.
