My Custom Knob Came Together Nicely Today. I Headed to the Lawnmower Parts Store? Not on My Schedule. A Little Measuring; a Little OpenScad; A Few Test Prints, and It Was Fixed, at Least from a Proof of Concept Standpoint. Now I'm Curious How It Will Endure. It's Been About a Month or Two. So Far, So Good. It Seems to Be Holding Up Pretty Well. Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 3 Notes: The Bolt It Fits Has to Be Around 18 mm Tall. The Barrel of the Shaft Measured Across the Threads Is About 8 mm. The Head of the Bolt Is Approximately 13 mm, Measured from One Flat Side to Another. The Bolt Head Is About 5 mm Tall. As This Was a Proof of Concept, I Printed Mine at Roughly 4% Fill. Now That It's Working, I'll See How Well It Wears and Adjust as Needed. It Takes Approximately 3.5 Meters of Filament. At 40/80 Speed, It Prints in Around 35 Minutes. If There's Enough Demand for Other Sizes, I'll Put Together a Customizer Version and Publish It. 04/2017 - Second Round. The Print Broke Near the Hex Nut. I'm Doing a New Print in PLA. 20% Fill Instead of 4%, and Six Shells, the Estimated Build Time Is Up to 45 Minutes. Post-Printing It Might Be Useful to Print a Hex Plug That You Can Glue into Place So the Bolt Doesn't Fall Out.
