Wedge experiment with friction

Wedge experiment with friction

grabcad

In this simulation by Prof. C. Stancescu, the Wedge experiment is demonstrated with geometric connections, friction and gravity enabled. Graphs and numerical data on normal forces exerted by wings on a wedge are available in PDF and text files. Normal forces were calculated for only the straight segments of the wedge. The masses of moving parts include a 3.33kg wedge, 2.7713kg wing_right, 2.7738kg wing_left, 0.00784kg DIN_625 and 0.1178kg roller. Friction coefficients include pedestal/wings (µ(static)=0.12, µ(kimenatic)=0.12, R=4 mm), wings/rollers (µ=0.12, µ(kimenatic)=0.12, R=3 mm) and wedge/rollers (Restitution=0.8, µ(static)=0.12, µ(kinematic)=0.12).
