Our actual wedding bands originated in Google Sketchup! We collaborated with our skilled jeweler, Jerry Lake of Lustre Precious Gems in San Jose, to create the rings using Palladium/Gold. To perfect the design, we underwent a series of prototyping and testing phases with materials ranging from nylon to sterling silver, through Shapeways. While we ultimately chose a local goldsmith for our wedding bands, The Casting House claims to cast in over 40 precious metal alloys from STL files, offering an alternative path complementary to Shapeways' offerings.
