A custom mount is available for webcams which directly attach to the print bed's surface, ensuring high-quality streaming or timelapse results through synchronized webcam movement. Octoprint's impressive webcam view feature greatly enhances print monitoring, but the challenge of seeing the entire process can arise when dealing with moving parts. This design was specifically created for 8"x12" extended print beds; however, similar configurations may be applicable to the 10" and 12" models due to similarities in bed shape. Nevertheless, this mount won't fit stock 8"x8" beds because they feature entirely distinct corner designs. Two versions are available - one features an adjustable arm that helps secure it onto the print bed while stabilizing it in place, whereas the other doesn't have this arm. Though I haven't personally tested the latter version, it seems quite sturdy. Please let me know if you opt for this arm-less design so others can learn from your experience. Raft Settings: No rafts required; ABS and PLA both produce excellent results due to printing the mounts on their sides, eliminating the need for supports. In case you decide to use the arm-supported design, turning on a cooling fan during overhang printing is advised to prevent sagging.
