Weatherflow Tempest mount
thingiverse
This is a combination deck-post and pipe clamp, intended to appear as a tasteful accessory to the already tasteful Tempest weather station offered by Weatherflow. The expected deck post is the commonplace 4x4 inch plastic deck post sleeve, and the expected mounting pipe is schedule 40 PVC 1 inch pipe (OD = 1.315 in). The idea was to contrive something functional but unobtrusive, in order to avoid aggrieving the neighbors. I am aware that putting an anemometer in the proximity of a large structure like a house is disruptive to the collected data, and in this case I really didn't care, mostly because the "purist alternative" would have been a 30 foot pole on the property, a non-starter with the neighbors. The expected printer material is ABS, and the screw tap and clearance hole sizes are chosen with the expectation that they will be drilled, after printing, using #19 and #29 drills, to accommodate 8-32 screws or 8-32 taps, respectively. Since the OpenSCAD file is also provided, these diameters are adjustable to accommodate metric substitutes. My wish was to make the mount trivial to make and implement.
