Weather Station
thingiverse
I designed a DIY weather station for a college project, and I used my Ultimaker 2 to print all the STL files with default settings. The models are version one, but the measurements between the support arms and the rain gauge housing (case_with_attachment.stl) and the main housing (weather_station.stl) were slightly off, so I had to sand down parts of the prints to make them fit. I'll reupload corrected models as soon as I can. The anemometer assembly requires an M8 threaded bar and two bearings for measurement. The support_arms.ai are designed to be laser cut from any material that's 5mm thick, and they're slotted together to make rigid structures. I used a sheet of Acrylic that was 1000x500x5mm, and the arms came out strong and sturdy. They should slide over any 20mm diameter pole, but I haven't yet figured out how to fix them in place.
