Weather Station Bracket

Weather Station Bracket

thingiverse

I've been enjoying the convenience of a wireless digital weather station that measures wind speed, direction, air pressure, and humidity. Unfortunately, it was damaged last year due to a flying tent incident. To fix this, I designed a new mounting bracket for my 3D printer (UP! PP3D) that can support a 21mm tube. The bracket has ribs for extra strength and is designed to work with M5 machine screws or bolts. The bottom of the bracket is closed off to prevent the tube from slipping under pressure, while the rear support is shelled with ribs for additional reinforcement. I've also added external ribs on the front to match the styling of the weather station. After making a few changes to the accompanying PDF with key dimensions, I printed both parts, which took 14 hours. The final result was impressive; the bracket installed nicely and clamped up securely using long Kreg screws. However, if mounting it to wood, avoid using countersunk fasteners to prevent splitting.
