I've built my own small and easy-to-use weather station. It's based on an ESP8266 microcontroller, the Wemos D1 mini, which reads data from a BME280 sensor and sends it via Wi-Fi to a custom API. To set up the sensor outside, I designed this case. It consists of three parts: a controller housing, rain protection, and a bar clamp. The BME280 sensor comes in different sizes, so I have one single-layered and one double-layered model available. Please check your sensor and choose the right one above. The bar attached to the sensor is from an old project a few years ago. You can find it on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1255796. To connect the clamp with the rain protection model, use an 8mm rod. If you want some code for your weather station, I've posted it on GitHub: https://github.com/flazer/weather-station. Here are two videos from while building this project (sorry, they're in German): Part 1 is at https://youtu.be/KMwVNuzghsY and Part 2 is at https://youtu.be/H0V1uFBAILE.
