We Met Heads On
thingiverse
The remix project 'We Met Heads On' features 3D objects created with Processing, which distorts meshes in real-time based on sound analysis from streaming audio. The video is a remix of the 3D scan hackathon at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY, organized by Makerbot, where participants scanned artifacts and modified them for 3D printing. 'Decimation study - met heads' by scotta3d served as a derivative used in this project, with low-polygon heads placed into a Processing sketch that responds to soundwaves. The resulting modified STL objects are performed and recorded in real-time. Two head models are available, one more glitchy than the other, which may be difficult to print. Before printing, it's recommended to carve out a booleaned cylinder for size preferences. The creator is open to receiving photos of printed prototypes and will credit contributors on their website. They enjoyed making these objects and plan to upload more derivatives in the future.
