WD My Book -> Dock Conversion
myminifactory
Convert your old WD My Book USB 3.0 into a docking station that fits any SATA-based drive. This lets you plug in any internal drive via USB 3.0, making it easier to use multiple HDDs if you have them lying around. I used a 1TB USB 3.0 version of the WD My Book to do this. The PCB_Holder model may need changing if your PCB shape or layout is different from mine. Any PCB version within 65mm x 65mm can be made to fit by altering the PCB_holder model. Everything else just friction-fits together, and you can use glue or a 3D pen to weld the parts together if needed. Printing time for each large piece takes about three hours, while the PCB_holder takes thirty minutes and the side piece takes forty-five minutes to print. For everything, it takes around ten and a half hours to print in total.
