I added a magwell to a RIA 1911, and realized afterwards that my Wilson Combat 920 magazines were too short to seat by a palm smack. WC sells rubber basepads but they are over $5 each plus shipping...couldn't do it. 920 mags are pre-drilled and tapped for 4-40 screws, and their kits come with 4-40 3/8" ones. An M3x0.5 10mm screw will work, even thought they are a touch smaller, but they crossthread a bit so they still hold tight. Lol.
