Wax model of a prepared corpse
myminifactory
This wax model of a prepared male corpse comes from the collection of the Anatomical Institution of the University of Tübingen. It was created in 1888 by Mon Tramond, then a world-renowned manufacturer, as evidenced by the signature "Mon Tramond / Prefecture & Supplier of Facultés / Anatomy Histoire Naturelle / Paris / Rue de l'Ecole de Médecine". This model showcases Tramond's skillful technique, which involves building coloured wax organs, muscles and skin around a real skeleton. The model was likely purchased by PJW Henke in 1888, after the university spent a significant amount on teaching materials that year, with over 1948 marks being spent on "various skeletons" from Vasseur-Tramond alone, making it the largest expenditure for the budget year of 1887-88.
