Triangle mesh surface meant to approximate water surface. Generated using Meshlab's 'Fractal Terrain' mesh creation filter. Screenshot of parameters used for the second attempt is included. If you'd like to quickly and easily iterate tweaks to the parameters to explore changes, don't click the close button on the 'Fractal Terrain' filter pop-up window. Just click apply and inspect the result. If you don't like it, hide it from the 'Layer Dialog' view pane on the right so you don't have to close the 'Fractal Terrain' filter pop-up window. Closing that window will reset the values you entered for the various parameters to their respective defaults and you'll need to manually change all of them again to iterate on a slight change to one or other. Also, if you delete the mesh layer from the 'Layer Dialog' widget, that will also close the 'Fractal Terrain' filter pop-up window, requiring you to tweak all of the values manually again. To just get a different variation of waves that have the same height and look just as well you can simply change just the seed value alone, and leaving everything else as shown in the screenshot. The archive files containing just the water surface triangle mesh (in the OBJ and GLTF/GLB formats, respectively) are the following: waves1.OBJ.7z, waves2.OBJ.7z, waves1.GLB.7z, waves2.GLB.7z. The pool.GLTF.GLB.7z file contains the water surface triangle mesh as well as the triangle mesh for a pool which is adequately sized so as to contain it, in GLTF/GLB format. pool.OBJ.7z contains just the pool triangle mesh, in the OBJ format.
