Waves
thingiverse
I hold an abstract sculpture in my hands, a true marvel of design that brings to mind the soothing motion of waves. This masterpiece demands to be handled, its intricacies begging to be admired. Print settings reveal a printer that's more than up to the task. MakerBot is the brand of choice here, with a Replicator 2 taking center stage. Rafts and supports are non-essential, so none are employed. Resolution stands at 0.2mm, infill sits at 12%, making for a sturdy, detailed product. Key design elements: A mix of OpenSCAD and ZBrush makes this creation truly one-of-a-kind. The latter saw use in simplifying shapes and using symmetry to refine the overall design. Finally, a trip to Simplify3D for slicing ensured that every last detail would be precise and sharp. With MakerBot Replicator2 as my printing machine and Elmer's Craft Bond glue stick at the ready, I was able to achieve just the right level of tackiness on my glass build plate. In PushPlastic filament I had a solid ally for producing strong prints that retained texture nicely. And here are my key print settings: Feedrate: 40, Travel Feedrate: 55, Temperature: 230 degrees C
