Wavebird Receiver Stabilizer
thingiverse
I'm one of maybe three people still using a Wii, and my go-to controller is my faithful Wavebird. When Nintendo designed the Wavebird, its receiver was meant to fit snugly against the front of the Gamecube. However, when connected to the Wii, it sticks out noticeably. This has always concerned me because tossing the Wii in my bag (I frequently take it to friends' houses) could damage the controller port or a part of the receiver from being jostled around in the bag. I wanted to create something that keeps the vulnerable Wavebird receiver safe from getting knocked around without needing to remove it. And this thing does just that! It slips over the back side of the receiver, held on by friction, and creates a seamless connection between it and the Wii's side. It's really quite simple. I designed it to be as stable as possible while still allowing another Wavebird receiver to be plugged into an adjacent port. For best results, place a piece of rubber tape along the section that will come into contact with the top of the Wii. This provides extra grip and puts a bit of tension on the rest of the bracket, both of which help minimize movement.
