Wave ripples

These carefully preserved wave ripples are clearly visible in a layered silstone that likely originated in a glacial lake environment. The sample is properly oriented with its stratigraphic layers facing upwards, but to fully appreciate these ripples, they should be viewed from the underside of the sample where their original structure is best reflected. The scalebar, conveniently located on the underside as well, provides a helpful reference point for measuring the dimensions of these intricate wave patterns.
