Waterproof Container

Waterproof Container

thingiverse

This is a container designed to fit bottle caps that hold 2L of liquid, making it waterproof. Smoothing the top surface may be necessary for optimal performance. The idea behind this design is to create a portable holder for items like maps or matches while hiking. Tonight, I plan on printing it and will upload photos and any updates as needed. UPDATE: It works perfectly! I tested it with a Kikoman soy sauce cap and a wine bottle cap, but unfortunately, it wasn't compatible with milk carton caps due to the inner lip of the plastic. However, it should be compatible with soda bottle caps. Since I didn't have matches or other items, I put candy in it for the picture. Hopefully, I'll add more features soon. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer Model: Monoprice Duplicator I3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 20% Post-Printing: Simply add a bottle cap to the container and it should be waterproof. How I Designed This: Design Details: I created this design using solidworks and the GPI standard, with thread information available at gpi.org and a GPI 400 thread without the optional piece. The design extends slightly further than the standard thread.
