WaterMelon Drain - Large
prusaprinters

Loved EvilTeach's watermelon tray/drain, but my favorite container was larger than my print bed! It also had rounded corners and Evil's rectangular design left a hole for melon bits to fall through.

This remix includes the following changes: (all optional, set to zero and matches EvilTeach's)

rounded corners: better fits the shape of my container

insetting support posts: the edge of my container is also rounded, moves post to flat area

inner support posts: my tray was too big and saggy

splitting output: My tray was too big for my printer. This allows X/Y (or both) splitting. Note: To split, use the values "0.5" and "-0.5". (customizer doesn't tell you!)

If you split X/Y, you can probably use the same print for both sides, but feel free to generate both. I attempted to join mine using a torch, but the seam wasn't strong enough and separated. With the excellent fit and extra support posts, two sections doesn't seem to be a problem.

You're not expected to print the attached STL, but it gives a nice picture. Use OpenSCAD or the customizer to make an STL for your container.

This was a long print about 3.5 hours per side.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

i3 MK3

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.3

Infill:

10

Filament:
Eryone pla white

Category: Kitchen & Dining
