Waterjet Reference Square + Clamping System
thingiverse
Reference square and clamping system designed for an OMAX 55100 waterjet. ###Design notes: - Three different material thicknesses required - 0.125", 0.375" and 1" (for hold-down clamps). Required material indicated - Bottom plates of reference square are intended to be sacrificial. Cut new straight sides when you bolt the square into the tank, replace the bottom plates when they get too cut up. - Vitamins required. The included STEP file should indicate all McMaster-Carr PNs required to build. Additionally, you will need to be able to countersink holes to build the reference square, and mill slots for the hold-down clamps. If someone can come up with a design that gets rid of the milled slots/is fully waterjettable in a single op, please post! - Clamping system is a loose derivative of a design used at the Autodesk BUILD Space. - Clamping hole spacing is designed for the 55100's tank + slat arrangement. You may want to adjust this hole spacing for your particular machine's configuration. - The square can also be mounted on top of a section of waterjet cutting brick/board. A cut template is included in the filelist. ###Changes & other notes: - 2020-11-13: Don't cut out the cutsey circle around the jet test hole like I did (near origin of square). This was intended to be a flat surface to set a terrain follower on. However, if the circle is cut out of the 0.125, then users are likely to set the terrain follower on the 0.375 plate, try to drive sideways to get to the work area, and crash the nozzle into the square. I would scribe the contour instead.
