Watering spike for 2L bottle

I'm heading off on my dream honeymoon in just a couple of weeks, so I had to find a way to keep my plants thriving between visits from my neighbor who kindly waters them for me. To solve this problem, I created a watering spike that's been working out really well. My initial testing revealed that it takes approximately 12 hours for the water to drain from the 2L bottle on average. However, if the soil is already moist when the water starts flowing, the spike lasts a bit longer than expected. UPDATE: I've added threads to my design and also included three "fill layers" in the middle of the spike, which creates a sort of filter at about 90% fill. This modification slows down the water flow slightly and prevents small particles from getting sucked up into the bottle.
