Filter sock holder that fits a Waterbox 20 AIO Cube aquarium. This may fit others that use a 2.75" sock. This is designed to use your own polyester filter socks, or an appropriate nylon mesh media bag. It does not fit commerial socks produced by Waterbox. Remove the standard Waterbox hole plate from your drain, then this holder will drop right in.It is a simple tube that you fit your sock over, then it is held in place by a snug fitting ring. I have included two rings, one with 2.0mm clearance for polyester felt fabric, and a 0.2mm clearance for nylon mesh media bags. I bought polyester felt fabric and made about a dozen that have now lasted about 3 years. I wash them in the clothes washer turned inside out and only use a splash of bleach and an extra rinse. Do not use soap. I dry them in the clothes dryer (and do NOT use a dryer sheet). It helps if you turn them inside out right after removing from your aquarium and rinse as much as possible in tap water.The tube diameter is 58 mm or 2.3 in. Multiplying by Pi for circumference, you'll need 7.2" to just make it around the tube. Depending on your sewing abilities, you'll start with a rectangle of fabric probably 9" wide and when folded in half, sewn to a rectangle about 4" wide. You can trim off the excess. Perfection is not necessary here, but there might be some trial and error. I made mine about 9" long. If you would prefer to skip the sewing and purchase a nylon bag, look for a fine mesh bag suitable for a media like Seachem Phosguard that is close to 4" wide and 8 or 9" tall. Boyd Enterprises sells these on the US Amazon site as "chemi-bags" and they are 4.5"x9". These work very well, though I can't vouch for their longevity yet. I print reef tank parts in PETG, though PLA should work fine.
