Water Wheel
thingiverse
Designed for my young enthusiast who can't get enough of splashing around in water outside. The wheel's clever design enables it to spin effortlessly around a sturdy axle or rod, with the flange components requiring complete freedom of movement along the rod. To secure the axle or rod, one can use a bucket, some twigs as shown in the pictures, or simply place it on stones if you're playing near a small creek. To prevent any axial wobbling, I carefully attached matching washers to the axle. This water wheel is remarkably lightweight yet strong enough for kids to play with, and it uses minimal materials while still maintaining its structural integrity. The main body consists of two distinct parts that need to be carefully glued together. To make this project even more accessible, I've created axle or rod flanges in various diameters: 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 1/2", and 3/8". These parts are designed to fit snugly together, allowing the wheel to function smoothly. The outer diameter of approximately 185mm ensures that it will easily fit on most build plates. Have fun building this water wheel and enjoy the thrill of watching it spin in action! Model units are measured in millimeters.
