The 10-story Water Tower stands majestically at the northeast corner of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the British Royal Family's impeccable taste. Erected between 1939 and 1946, it was created from Portland stone blocks sourced locally from the nearby Wollaston quarry, with an exterior resembling ancient temple structures found throughout England. Its interior is comprised solely of water tanks which are responsible for supplying drinking water to the entire Palace. A single, narrow staircase within its towering structure connects to a landing positioned in the center of each level and ultimately leads out through its grand roof exit.
