Water Tank Cap Replacement (Steam Broom Philips FC7020 Steam Plus 2-in-1)
thingiverse
Let's get right to it, folks. I'm here to share my experience with a Philips steam broom at home. The tile floor gets thoroughly cleaned, and my wife loves using it. The detachable water tank is convenient, but the cap recently cracked. Initially, I tried gluing it together, but that didn't hold up after several uses. I then decided to take precise measurements of what was left and draw a replacement cap in AutoCAD. If you're facing the same issue with your water tank cap, here's what you need to do: remove the old cap and take out its internals, including a spring with a small white ball attached to it and a white rubber spacer. Make sure to also remove the white rubber washer on the other side, which seals between the cap and the tank. It's recommended to print this replacement using SLS technology for optimal results, but I used FDM printing since we don't have an SLS machine in town. FDM works, but it's not as strong or aesthetically pleasing as SLS printed parts. The new cap consists of two parts: the main body and the insert that needs to be glued into the top of the main body after reassembling the spring and rubber spacer. The insert has a snug fit, so use a needle file for any necessary adjustments. I recommend using Abro Epoxy Steel glue for its fast set time and excellent bonding properties. After gluing, simply reinstall your rubber washer, and you're good to go!
