After posting on GrabCad about the volume of a fuel tanker and how it changes from the start to finish, I revisited an old water tank design project that dates back to around 1998. Initially created as 2D AutoCAD drawings, I reworked the project in Alibre Design as a 3D model to demonstrate my process for designing and building similar projects. The package includes all necessary drawings in PDF format, step files, Solid Works files exported from Alibre Design, and an Alibre Design project file that bundles everything into one easily shareable file - a much simpler approach than dealing with a full Solid Works project. When working on tank designs, I always begin by modeling the fluid contents inside the tank, assigning real-world properties to this part before building the tank itself around it.
