Water Ski Wing Angle Gauge Set

Water Ski Wing Angle Gauge Set

New to 3D printing but an avid water skier, I thought designing and sharing fin wing gauges would be a worthy first project. Revised on April 30, 2017, a new version was uploaded that changes from raised numbers, as shown in the picture, to hollow numbers. This design benefits by printing faster and stacking together more easily, which I discovered when mailing a set to another skier for the first time. Note on October 20, 2017: I now recommend printing them out of ABS instead of PLA because PLA can become soft if left in direct sunlight as water ski gear often is. ABS melts at a higher temperature. Additionally, I changed to 20% infill just to make them more rugged while still floating. Revised on December 31, 2017: The set now includes a 9.5-degree gauge and also has a single 9.5-degree gauge available separately as well. For those who need wing gauges immediately and do not have a 3D printer, try these paper ones at https://www.finwhispering.com/product/paper-wing-gauges/. Print Settings: Printer: Printrbot Play Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .1 Infill: 20% Notes: There are individual STL files for each gauge to print separately, and there is a full set. The angle bevel on the bottom allows them to fit on my small print bed at a 45-degree angle. If printing the whole set, you must have a larger printer. Any feedback is welcome. How I Designed This: Designed with TinkerCAD: I designed these all using the web application at www.tinkercad.com
