Water Rocket - Student Project

grabcad

Experience an exciting project with young individuals that involves creating fast and far-flying rockets. To begin, gather 600ml of water, a 2L pop bottle, a funnel, bicycle pump, automotive trailer-style tire valve, a 1/4" to 3/8" diameter pole (for sticking in the ground), and strong, very sticky plastic box tape. Ensure you apply ample amounts of tape for all purposes. The internal pressure ranges from 80PSI to 120PSI based on valve fit, launching when pressure overcomes valve friction. Attach cardboard loops to the rocket's body for launching onto a ground-placed pole, while monitoring wind speed and avoiding birds. Anticipate speeds around 200 Kph; be cautious with fin placement and waterproofing the nose cone. This project is truly exhilarating!
