Water Rocket Launch Pad
thingiverse
People use everyday household items to launch water rockets with precision. The design starts by filling a lower chamber with compressed air using only a garden hose. This air fills 50% of the bottle, while the other 50% is filled with water. Once the pressure builds up sufficiently, a quick release valve made from the same garden hose fails, causing the bottle to launch into the air. A video showcasing a successful test launch can be seen below. However, a more detailed and higher-quality video will be uploaded once I have some quality time with my family outdoors. https://youtu.be/bxUgGDHQyZM Additionally, I've included a pressure tank sizing calculator and a bill of materials for those who want to replicate this project. The Solidworks files used to design the launch pad are available on my Grabcad account. https://grabcad.com/library/garden-hose-water-rocket-launch-pad-1
