Water Pump

Water Pump

thingiverse

I built a simple water pump using an old electric motor with a pinion from a printer. The pinion was stubborn, but I managed to avoid damaging the motor by carefully removing it. Everything fit together perfectly without needing any glue. To prepare the impeller, I used a nail file to smooth out the first layer's edge, which tends to be thicker than the rest of the part. Surprisingly, the holes for the screws weren't necessary for the pump's functionality. The motor diameter measures approximately 27.6mm, with a 10mm hub before the shaft and a 2.3mm shaft. I also added another pump hub compatible with a 2.2mm shaft by simply heating up the shaft and pressing the part onto it.
